Our Mission
Feel the Beat is a Colorado-based nonprofit and dance studio dedicated to making the experience of music possible for all, including those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and/or those with or without disabilities.
With our bone-conduction dance floor, students are able to feel sound through vibrational energy that embodies the experience of music in an inclusive platform.
Our Story
In 2016, founders Jari and Julia met while teaching in a multiple needs classroom. They saw firsthand how students became more engaged when music and movement were made accessible. Recognizing the lack of inclusive programs, they set out to create something different.
Working alongside engineers, they helped pioneer vibrating dance floor technology that allows students to experience sound through feeling. Today, Feel the Beat has reached more than 4,500 students across Colorado and beyond — just a small step toward a much larger vision.

Our Curriculum
Our program combines a customized adaptive curriculum, vibrotactile flooring, and a sign language–friendly environment to remove barriers and connect students of all backgrounds. Every element is designed to make music and dance education more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for all.
