How Our Program is Accessible

Feel the Beat was founded to ensure that those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, as well as those with or without disabilities can engage in music and dance education by providing an inclusive curriculum that honors and uses their mode of communication. Not only do our classes incorporate ASL into instruction, but we also use a patented vibrotactile flooring so dancers can feel the music through the floor! These classes are made for you in mind.

How We Teach for You:

  • Classes are taught using ASL and visual cueing

  • Counting the music in ASL for clarity

  • Sound accessible flooring so you can feel the music

  • Encourage instruction of ASL terms to non signers in class to build community amongst attendees
